About Linecooks : PicAbout the Owner:
Linecooks.com™  has been a dream of mine for a few years now.

I worked in the food service industry for around 18 years. I have the personal experience of sitting down with potential employees, holding interviews, hiring and even the unpleasant business of terminating unneeded or un-productive workers. I've been on the other end sitting patiently in an office or dining room for my hopefully soon to be employer to enter to ask me questions to see if I'm a good fit to their establishment. I've worked as a dish-washer, bus boy, prep-cook, line-cook (flexible to all positions), kitchen manager, and even helped open and redesigned few kitchens.

I've worked at the local mom and pop place down the street and walked the halls of  high volume commercial kitchens; from seasonal work at national parks to part-time flexible cooking shifts during my years at college. I have put out fires that could blown up kitchens and fought for co-workers who were getting a raw deal. I've hired and fired, trained and led. I've worked closely with General Managers to improve their kitchens and staff, but have been know to walk out of jobs that were asking to much for to little. Cooking requires a team. Linecooking is all TEAM. When that team wasn't a good fit I didn't mind leaving or I spoke with management to try and correct the problem and/or remove the "bad seed."  I know the difference between tattle-telling and being a responsible member of  the Staff. I know you have to prove your worth to the Line and respect is earned in the heat of the rush.

I've seen 1200 dinners leave a kitchen with 4 of us working an 8 hour shift. I worked seasonal position at national parks where buses unloaded into our dinning rooms. I know the industry and now I am trying to help those looking for kitchen positions connect with those business who are hiring in the kitchen. Linecooks.com™ is that place.

I wish you the best in finding that perfect job, with the coolest cooks that know both how to work hard and play hard. Those that don't let you slack and constantly test your skills to improve.

Employers,
may your kitchens be graced by the best of the best, by those who have a knife roll and the skill sets to use them all. May the team always prevail in your restaurant. Keep those lines of communication open, and allow Linecooks.com™ to start that conversation to richer employment.

May your blade always be sharp and your temperament cool and collected.

~The Webmaster (and previously Professional Cook)
